Title: Permissions screwed up, won't reset.

Hi,
I've read through all I can find on permissions problems with the 323, but all the solutions seem to include solutions that include linux gobblediegoop that me average user doesn't get.

All of a sudden, I can't write to the drives, reading no problem.

Went to the web interface, everything seemed fine, but reset them anyway, no change.
Upgraded to FW 1.10, everything goes away, and now I can't even add an all user with R/W, it seems to accept the apply, then it doesn't even list the permission where they used to be listed.

Reset to Factory defaults, no change.

Took unit apart and replaced the battery in the motherboard, no change.

What now?

Wow, 25 views and no responses...Isn't there someone from D-Link who reads this and should know how to fix this?

I really figured a reset to factory should do it, but no.  Isn't that kind of the point for having a "reset"?

AFAIK, factory reset will not change file permissions.  Any idea what caused the issue in the first place?  You may have little choice but to install a fun_plug and manually reset the file permissions using linux" gobblediegoop ".

Another alternative might be to take the drives out and install them in a Windows PC with a ext2 driver and see if you can access your files that way.  Just a thought though.

I don't have any idea what caused it, but I've read more than a few posts where this seemingly randomly happened after a year or so of smooth use.
I'm quite amazed that DLink hasn't recognized it as a problem and written a fix for it.  I've got a friend who is a programmer, and he's offered to take a look, so it seems I'll have to take him up on the offer.
