Title: Shareport Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Not Working
Post by: MauriceFrank on February 14, 2012, 04:27:20 PM
Hi,

My wife has a new computer and I cannot get Shareport to recognize our external drive. It worked on her old PC running XP. I've tried everything I can think of and searched for help but to no avail.

I keep getting the error that says no servers are broadcasting and nothing appears in the main screen device list.

Here are the hardware/software details:

Computer: Dell Inspiron 620
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP 1
Router: D-Link DIR 628, Firmware 1.13 2008/10/01 (original no upgrades yet)
Shareport 3.0.0 R1 SXUPTP driver 3.3.8.0

Device I am trying to connect to: Fantom GreenDrive II

I tried totally disabling the Windows firewall, that did not work.

During install I agreed to include this int eh firewall approved list, and I see Shareport in the list of allowed programs, and the check boxes are checked.

The wireless network is working properly. My wife's PC is on the Internet.

What am I doing wrong, and how can I get this to work?

Thanks for your help.

Maurice

Might un-install fully the SP software and give the updated SW a try from the DIR-827 web site. There is a specific Shareport forum for Windows at the root of this forum site. I would post your question there and see if anyone else has resolution for this.

Thanks, I will re-post. The install is a fresh install using a fresh download on a new PC. I'll try again though.
