Title: Optimize DNS321 For Windows Media Center Access
Post by: Camaroon on February 18, 2012, 10:41:06 AM
Hi everyone, first post to the forums.  I've been using the 321 for over a year now and it's been great.  No major issues so far.  Recently I've been working on setting up a htpc setup in my house and although everything has been working fine in terms of both computers being able to access media on the drives, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make sure that the 321 is optimized for read speeds over the network.  For example, I have about 200 files in my movie library all in either xvid or mpeg format.  When I open up movie library in WMC it takes a little while for them to come up.  Nothing substantial, but maybe 2 minutes before they all show up.  It's gotten better since I've added a gigabit switch to the network, but that's the sort of thing I'm talking about.  Any advice would be great.  Thanks!
