Post by: fotoGrrl69 on February 18, 2012, 03:59:09 PM
As Ive stated before I am a NAS newbie big time...my newest dumb question is how do i find the IP address to my NAS when I am outside my home network, for example im in a hotel 300 miles away and want to store photos that ive taken of a project to my NAS drive.

Hi,
It's either the Web File Server feature or the FTP file server, which I prefer.  Here is a link to a youtube video for the FTP setup.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCxdGWmrcOM .  Unless you have a static IP for your internet service, most don't, you will need to do the ddns thing too.  Good luck
