I have an tvix3300hd (no hard drive) I am trying to network to a Dlink dns320 with 2 hard drives in raid So far with no luck
At the moment my network settings are Shared dir "/mnt/HD-a2/music", Netshare selected, server ip "192.168.0.5 (the Dlink), Ping=Succeeds. Dlink has volume_1 shared with Read/Write , I have tried Shared dir = */volume_1/music" and many others to no availe on the Tvix, My router is a Netgear dgn500 and I run a Astone Mediaplayer 24/7 playing the music file on the Dlink with no probs, Tvix3300 Allway comes up with "Failed to connect to network disk", Any suggestions please. ???

Out of curiosity I looked up the Tvix device on the net and it would appear that,
a- you require a hard disk to be installed, formatted to ntfs.
b- your firmware should be the latest.
c- you require the latest netshare software for the device.
Since it appears that it relies on FTP for transfer and streams from its internal HD you are not going to get very far as your setup stands.

Gday,
It will play files from my laptop when I have the Tvix netshare running with or without a hard drive settup in it and I flashed the latest firmware succesfully using a Usb stick and no hard drive.
it seems to be a permission isue with the Dlink because when I try Samba *( get the message"CIFS: Authentication for user [Guest] has FAILED.", The Dvix sends the id as "Admin" and the password I use to get into the Dlink.
Probebly Somthing simple That I cant See.
