I reconnected my DCS-5230L. I can see that it has a Folder Storage option button. Clicking on it allows me to choose the folder. I can see my NAS in this window, so i would think that I can record directly onto the NAS.

On the set-up screen, I also see two options: a direct reccord to an SD card, and a record to a SAMBA server.

You can follow the instruction here.
ftp://www.dlink.com.sg/DCS-5230L/Setup%20Procedures/How%20To%20Trigger%20Continuous%20Recording%20on%20Samba%20Network%20Drive%20on%20the%20DCS-5230L.pdf

Please note, only firmware v1.02 listed here can support NAS. The website here failed to inform that v1.03 does not support NAS record. http://www.dlink.com.sg/support/support_detail.asp?idProduct=503

However, it seems that there is some bugs in v1.02. I bought 2 units of DCS-5230L and have successfully configured my NAS recording with DNS-320. However, the cameras would hung after few days, and no more recording on the NAS.

*sigh*

What else can I do?
