I cannot access the scheduling area in Tools with my brand new DIR645 Whole Home Router 1000 as I could with my DIR 655 Extreme router. I now get page not found with Internet Explorer and have the same issue with Google Chrome and Mozilla Fire Fox. Does anyone have any ideas? :(

Have you reset the PC and the router after you connected to the 645?
What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
I would contact your ISP service and ask them to help you bridge the modem. If the modem can't be bridged then I would use the DMZ feature of the modem and input the IP address that the router gets from the Modem on put that in the modems DMZ.
Some things to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall if you have this option.
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.
Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. I recommend CAT6 and the shorter the better if possible. I use a 1 footer. Swap cable between modem and router. Sometimes these in box cables are not make well.

Thanks you Fuzzynutz. I will try the things that you suggested and post later.

Sir FurryNutz, Thank you for your help. I have tried all your suggestions but I am still unable to access Schedules. I can get to everything else. The only change I had to make was to set firewall endpoint independent for TCP and UDP. I did change out Ethernet cables to both router - computer and router - modem with all new cables. I might add that I was able to access schedules with my old DIR-655 with no setup changes from factory default and current wiring. There is only one router, no additional equipment other than dsl modem and all other devices are off. I should not be this hard. I am wondering if there my be a firmware issue with the DIR-645.

Care to try the Beta FW?
-
What is that?
-
If your in the NA region, try this:
Use the FW update sticky process please.
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir645/Beta/Firmware/DIR645A1_FW102B08_BETA.zip
-
Thank you. I will give that a try and let you know.
-
BTW can you explain what the FW upgrade sticky process is?
-
There is a sticky in this forum that details how to upgrade FW.

Oh bless you! I am new to forums and I could not find the sticky any where! ??? :D
-
Let us know how that works out.
-
Schedules is still univailable after successful beta firmware install. All else seems to be ok. I double checked all the settings that you had me check earlier. Is there anything else we can try? :(
-
And you are logged in as Admin right?
What browser are you using on the router? Does this happen with Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, enable the compatibility mode in IE.
-
Yes, I am logged in as administrator and compatibility mode does not come on for the schedules url in IE 9. It does give me an icon in Tools but not Tools > Schedules. FF and GC also do not allow access to schedules.
-
BTW, I have already replaced the DIR-645 with another new DIR-645. Niether router will allow access to Schedules
-
Can we get on teamviewer so I can have a look. I'd like to see this. Not doubting you or anything.
Send me a PM with ID and PW.
-
Just sent it to you. Let me know if I did not read you right.
-
ID needs to be 9 character number
-
Ok, I will send another. Let me know if you need anything else.
-
Lets try again tommorrow. It is time to go home right?
-
;)

Need to know if anyone else that has this router is seeing this problem when selecting Schedules under Tools. Is the browser reporting a error connection on screen?
Router Fun is seeing this on IE9 and Chrome.
I have verified this on his PC with teamviewer.
Please let us know if anyone else is seeing this issue please.

Hi - this is a long shot maybe, but the following is my story. On my first 645 I kept getting page not found when I tried to access the router on 192.168.0.1. I took it back and got a new one ... which promptly did the same. I always had to reboot then I could access but later I couldn't.
Somebody suggested that DDNS might be causing a problem. I went through every device on my network disabling every mention of DDNS on every device. Eventually I disabled DDNS on one of my IP Cameras, it promptly through a wobbler - I couldn't access it. But I could now access the router. After a while the IP camera started working again and now, over a week later harmony has returned to my network. No problems with either camera or router or anything else. I'm not 100% sure, but the learning is that it appears other devices may be able to cause problems and interfere with accessing of the web interface of this router. Good luck.

It could be an addressing issue. During troubleshooting I have removed all devices except dsl modem and host computer but still had the issue. As dicc01 tried, I also replaced the router and had the same problem.
-
@dicc01
So can you select Tools/Schedules and does this option work for you?
-
I can select Tools but not Schedules. The factory is looking into it.
-
Any status on this?
