Title: DIR-601 with Netgear FVS318G
Post by: tdisalvo on March 08, 2012, 09:37:09 AM
Hi

I am having routing problems.  I have a netgear FV318G firewall that acts as my router for my 192.168.1.x network.  I also have a DIR-601 pluged into this network.  The WAN IP address is 192.168.1.77 and it had a network of 192.168.2.x.

From the 192.168.2.x address I can ping anything that is on the 192.168.1.x address but from the 192.168.1.x address I cannot ping anything on the 192.168.2.x address.  I undertand this is becuase the DIR-601 is acting as a firewall.

Am I able to disable this?  I would like it to act like a bridge between the two networks, or if I cannot get this can I just have this act as an access point?  If I do just have it act as an access point will I loose my abilty to use this for DHCP?

Thanks

You can try and disable SPI and Set EndPoint Independent for NAT.

If you choose to use the 601 as an AP, you will loose the DHCP server since it has to be disabled.
