Title: Problems with corrupted video files and iTunes

After installing my DNS-325, I moved all my iTunes library to it. iTunes server is switched on, however I doesn’t seem to be working. As a result, I just configured iTunes to be linked to the DNS drive (windows mapped network drive) and folder where the files are. My library includes many videos.

The problem is that now dozens of videos, worth many days on converting time, appear to be corrupted, and can not be played. I just don’t know how this happened. I also noticed that is I add a new video to the DNS, and then add it to the iTunes library, it works. However, if I add a Illustration to the video, it gets corrupted, and can not be played anymore.

Has this happened to anybody?
Any solution?
Any way to recover my videos?

Try to play your converted m4v file directly from DNS folder. If it plays (in Quicklook, QuickTime etc) then the file itself is OK. Probably you have to resync iTunes library file (which is kept on local HDD) to the new paths on DNS.
PS DNS-325 iTunes server does not work since iTunes 10
PPS I use my DNS in same way as you (media library on NAS) and this setup works quite well.

Videos do not play in any way. Files are definitely damaged.
I tried to play them directly from the DNS, and after copying them to my local HDD. No success.

Just noticed you saying this. How do you add the illustration to the video? I've had also troubles with adding metadata directly with iTunes so now I use the excellent free tool called Subler (http://code.google.com/p/subler/) exclusively to add the metadata to file before I import it into iTunes.

I used to do it with iTunes, and never had problems before. But now, once I do it, the file gets corrupted and unusable.
