My network consists of:
Asus RT-56U router
Dlink DNS320
1 Win7 desktop (connected via cable)
1 Mac laptop (connected via wireless)
1 WinXP laptop (connected via wireless)
The problem I'm facing right now is that both the laptops are able to map the network drive and browse the files on the DNS320 whereas my desktop is unable to do so.
I configured the DNS from my desktop and I am able to get a ping response but mapping the network drive would get me an error. I have also tried doing it in Safe mode with networking but it does not work.
Anyone has any solutions? Thanks in advance!

mapping via name or ip?

mapping via name or ip?
Via IP address. Like this:
\\IP Address\Volume_1

Anyone having similar issues can help?

do you get anything if you just do \\ip-address?

Were you ever able to access/map the DNS-320 via any PC on your LAN?

Yes, it works on both my Mac and XP laptop. I have them both mapped to my DNS

Windows 7? Have you got file sharing and network discovery enabled? Windows firewall enabled or other software firewall?

All firewalls and anti-virus disabled and yes, file sharing and network discovery is turned on

Try disabling/enabling the PC NIC. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the NIC drivers on your PC. There may be some corruption (or setting change) preventing discovery of random network resources.

Tried disabling, doesn't work. Will get my drivers and try it tomorrow. Hopefully it'll work! :)

Reinstalled my drivers for my NIC card. Still doesn't work, can't map and can't see it in windows explorer

Have you try mapping from command prompt? Eg. net use z: \\ipaddr\Volume_1
Also check if W7 Credential Manager (from Control Panel) and delete entry relating to your NAS.

It says that the network path was not found. Credential Manager also has no entries of the NAS

Check the properties of your PC network port and see if "Client for Microsoft Networks" is there, install if not found.

I know it's too late but could be helpful for the future... I had the same issue; however ftp went fine, i could not reach the shared folders via explorer. I disabled Windows firewall (however I have not modified the rules before) for Private/Home network then I could reach the shared folder. After enabling Win FW again, the problem disappeared.
