Title: Polaroid PMID701C Tablet - Will Not Connect
Post by: RDWilker on April 01, 2012, 03:47:26 PM
My laptop, printer, and iPhone connect to the internet via this router, but my new Polaroid tablet will not.  The tablet locates the secure network connection and I enter the password.  Rather than connecting, a loop of the following messages display - "Obtaining IP address..." "Remembered secured with WEP."  The first suggestion from support was to check that the firmware for the router is up-to-date.  Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? thanks!

What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.
Does the tablet support WEP, TPIK or AES?

Thank you for taking the time to respond. After seeing your response regarding the support for WEP I continued to research the tablet online and found a way to connect.  My internet service provider gave me my static IP Address which I entered into the Wireless & Network Settings area, then I manually entered the SSID, Security Type and Security Key and established a connection.  Funny how Polaroid tech support suggested it was a router issue :)  Thank you again!!
