Hi, I have two questions, if I update the firmware will I have to reformat the drives? also I read somewhere that a later firmware version added NTFS support via usb, is this true? and would you recommend updating to the latest firmware? or the beta?
THanks.

No. Firmware updates should not impact existing HDD configuration or data
also I read somewhere that a later firmware version added NTFS support via usb, is this true?
You can find the release notes for all prior firmware upgrades/versions here: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42483.0 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42483.0)
would you recommend updating to the latest firmware? or the beta?
This is purely a personal choice. Official release firmware is typically more stable and reliable than beta firmware.

Thanks for replying, are there any known issue's with the current latest firmware? 2.02 / b01

Release notes for the latest firmware were not published yet. No user comments either.

I have a 1TB external USB drive connected and the DNS-320 reads and writes to it just fine. I think support was added in the 2.02 firmware but I am now running the 2.03 beta and it works.
