I just got back from dinner tonight and decided to log into the DNS-323 to check my bit torrent downloads. When I hit the [download] button, I get a screen flash and I'm back into the login screen. I tried again and noticed a dialog that pops up so fast I can't even read it before the login screen comes up. I finally am able to get a screenshot of the popup and it says:
Backup your files before proceeding!
To stabilize operation, please login and select TOOLS --> RAID to reformat your device with an EXT2 file system.
What the heck does it think I'm trying to do? Anyone? I've done nothing to this box in the last few weeks.

When I try posting a picture attachment, I get the following:
The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.
What am I doing wrong? I can't post the screen shot I wanted.

This seems to be a common issue with the download button after a while; you can get into config, but the download button just drops you back to the login screen. Your torrents will continue to download, however.
Simply reboot the DNS-323 and it will work again for a while.
As for the flashing message, I get that all the time too; it is nothing specific to your setup.

i have had this issue before and reported it on the forums and had a handful of people confirm they are getting it, just another annoying bug in the end

Thanks for the response guys. I actually did reboot about an hour after that post and it did solve the problem. I thought I was having issues with the raid system since it mentioned reformatting.
When the screen flashes, it is actually flashing up a dialog box. I'm trying to attach it here but it's not working. You won't be able to see it but I suspected a warning dialog of some sort. I was able to get a screen shot of it at the right moment to confirm my suspicions..

I ran into this problem again last night and it always happens when I have about a dozen downloads going. I was keeping my downloads to about 6-8 max. I got a bit torrent happy today and ended up with about a dozen torrents.. time to reboot again..
Just a guess, but it seems like a javascript issue....
