Hi, I couldnt find a forum for the DSR-250N but I purchased it because I have a requirement to have a lot of network ports but very small data usage over the 3g, but I do need the 3g
I wanted to not bother with the wan port and only use the 3G, I have filled in the box and the failover screen does say link up but its clearly not connected on the wan (3G modem polling but not solid light)
is there a way to force the router just to use the 3G connection and not bother with the WAN,
I had a ZOOM one which did this very easily and could replicate the same set up but less plugs and better wifi coverage is what I am looking for

I would recommend contacting your regional local DLink support office about this.

3G adapters are only supported on the DSR-1000/1000N.

Surely all those 3G failover options and reference on the website means its actually possible, the firmware that arrived with the unit had nothing but the FW I upadated to had lots of options

Consulting the manual: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dsr500N/Manual/dsr500N_manual_103.zip (ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dsr500N/Manual/dsr500N_manual_103.zip)
Though this is from the DSR-500N page, it contains the manual for the DSR-250N/500/500N/1000/1000N.
The DSR-1000 / DSR-1000N supports Third Generation (3G) Networks via an extendable USB 3G dongle.
Support for the 3G wireless WAN USB dongle is only available for DSR-1000 and DSR-1000N.
...configuration for the 3G USB modem is available only on WAN2.
3G WAN support is available on the dual WAN products: DSR-1000 and DSR-1000N
Cellular 3G internet access is available on WAN2 via a 3G USB modem for DSR-1000 and DSR-1000N
The DSR Unified Services Router has a USB interface for printer access, file sharing and on the DSR-1000 / DSR-1000N models 3G modem support.
Note the absence of the DSR-250N/500/500N in the list. Also note that you must be able to configure WAN2, which is not available in the DSR-250N
