Title: DHP-W306AV work only for 15-30 Minutes - is it faulty?
Post by: fatboy on April 30, 2012, 06:11:21 PM
I bought the DHP-W306AV (plus one DHP-306AV).

Problem is, it works only for 15-30 Minutes. Then the net feed stops. That happens on all working power outlets in the house. After I switch it off and let it rest a while it works again for some time.

To me looks like an overheating problem on the DHP-W306AV side. The DHP-306AV feeder is constantly ON.

Is my unit faulty?

Just wondering, how much time does a D-Link staff need to reply? I understand 4 weeks is a little short, but maybe they can just give me a month here and I come then.

Here an update: I send the set (both) to the Hong Kong D-Link distributor, alris.com.hk for check and repair.

After 4 days I got the finished notice. After checking, that idiots didn't fix anything at all. Same as before. The just reset the wifi unit.

What a bunch of morons!  That will be my last D-Link product!

Hi,

I have the exact same issue.
I have 2 DHP-307AV which works perfectly, and I have added a DHP-W306AV to have a better wireless.

First unit worked fine for about a year, but suddenly stopped working... (seemed to overheat too).
After some discussions with dlink support, they asked me to send the unit back and they sent me a new one.
Got this one about a week ago, and it worked for 15 mins!
Now, it is getting very hot whenever I switch it on and after 5 mins it looses the CPL sync.

I am very happy with the DHP-307AV but I am seriously considering switching brands now that I cant get the wifi unit to work...

Santhy.
