Title: Streaming UPnP to mobile
Post by: rendez2k on May 13, 2012, 12:33:52 AM
I've tried various iPad 2 and Galaxy S2 apps to try and stream 720p MKVs from my 320. All the devices play the videos but they are very choppy (the 320 is hooked up to my gigabit router and the devices are on wi-fi). Is this a symptom of the 320 not being able to stream fast enough?

Look to your WiFi first and therein you will most probably find the problem.  My tablet streams from a DNS-320 without any problems.

Yes, look at your WiFI settings all around, also try other PC hard wired to the router.
Also check and make sure you have CAT5E or later. Otherwise, you will never get gig speeds.

What apps have you tried on the S2? Also what audio stream are are you playing back.

I recommend Dice media player and bubble upnp browser.

But are you sure the S2 can play 720P MKV's ? My Motorola xoom tablet which has the same Tegra CPU/GPU can't do it without being choppy.
