Hi Folks:
I'm a first-time D-Link user and first-time poster here.
Yesterday I purchased a DIR-645 for the music store I work at. I was hoping to solve some wireless range issues we were having with a recently purchased Netgear router. The store has CenturyLink DSL and an Actiontec GT701D modem router. The Actiontec was working fine with the Netgear router--both wired and wireless. I installed the DIR-645 using the CD-ROM, and all went well. All computers in the store saw the network and were able to connect. The problem: no internet--wired or wireless. I did the dummy check and connected the Actiontec modem directly to the main computer; there was internet. So somehow communication is lacking between the Actiontec and the DIR-645. I found some helpful ideas in other posts here, but being a novice I get a little confused with some of the terminology. Is there an obvious conflict between the two units that I am missing? If so, what is the resolution?
I'll be able to post more details when I am at the store again later today.

If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.
Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) if your interested. Its safe and secure.
