Title: DAP-1522 quick question
Post by: DIRSIXFIVEFIVENROUTER on May 26, 2012, 11:58:24 PM
Hi. Im planning to buy DAP-1522. I believe that this can extend my previous router's signal hopefully down stairs. Now my question is does DAP-1522 offer WIFI signal also? Or it only has internet on the ports?? Another question is would it be compatible to the DIR655 model? My current setup is my old DIr 601 was modded to a bridge I think because my room is a dead spot for the signal.

I hope you guys can help me out..thank you.

All DAP models are WiFi supporting and supports internet on the WiFi and the LAN ports.
I would review the product web page on DLink site and review what each DAP model supports and recommended uses.

Enjoy.

Thanks!!

So basically its like a wifi extender?

edit: I read the info..and i think it won't support what i planned in having. "connect DAP 1522 to main router(Dir655) wirelessly to have signal downstairs to reach dead spots in the home"..

sucks -_-

You might want to either put in a wired AP or use power line adapters.

Power line adapters are great, I have some at my place and their purpose is to just put the internet from the modem to the switch at the other end of the house.  It would be ideal in your situation I think.
