Is the DNS-325 is a bad option if you want to use 2TB or 3TB drives? The compatibility list only shows one 2TB drive. I'm hoping it's simply not very comprehensive, and that many unlisted drives work fine.
For example, I'm considering buying a pair of one of the following drives: Seagate STBD2000101, Samsung F4 HD204UI and Seagate ST3000DM001. None of them is listed on the compatibility list, and there are user reports about some, but not all, of the drives. If I buy one, how likely am I to have to return it because they're incompatible? Is it fair to assume that compatibility problems will be a much bigger issue 2 years from now, when I plan to upgrade?

The HDDs listed are simply the ones that were validated by D-Link. The exclusion of HDDs from that list doesn't necessarily mean that missing HDDs won't work. It's inconceivable for D-Link to exhaustively test every HDD model and revision.
