Title: DIR-685 & DNS-345 Compatibility
Post by: Hitokiri_2000 on May 28, 2012, 11:16:16 AM
Hello Fellow D-Linkers :)

I was wondering if any of you out there know if the DNS-345 is compatible with the DIR-685?

I have been going through the compatiblity lists on the D-Link site but the DIR-685 is not on the list either as working or not working so if any of you out there is running these two together then i would love to know. Otherwise i just have to hook up my DIR-615 instead as i know it's on the working list.

Kind regards.

I would presume it is as far as a networking standard. They would be compatible, however in performance, you'll take a big hit if you directly connect the 345 to the 685 as the Max supported speed connections on the 685 I believe is only 100Mb. I would check the specs on the 685 and see. The 345 is Gb supporting so if you do want to do this, I would recommend getting an external network Gb switch to add between the 685 and the 345. This is preferred as well.

Hi FurryNutz !

All 4+1 ports on the DIR-685 are GigaBit ports  ;D

Cheers !
