Title: DAP-1522 in Bridge Mode: Can I turn off Wireless ?
Post by: jcole66 on May 30, 2012, 06:21:47 AM
If I turn off the wireless on my DAP-1522 in bridge mode, will it basically become a Gig Switch??  I've changed my network around abit and don't need it in bridge mode at this point but would love to use it as a plain switch.  Would this do the trick??

Could try it, however not sure if it can do that, you could run it in AP mode and still use the wireless along with your other wireless. Can be same SSID and such, just needs to be different channel is all. Let us know what you find out.

UPDATE:

I emailed customer support and found that I can use this as a Switch.... So I need to leave it in bridge mode and turn off Wireless and for any devices connected to it, set them with a static IP address.  This is all very doable and will test it out next week when I receive my new router that is on the way to me.
