Title: New Modem Router, now I can't connect.
Post by: cultivate on June 04, 2012, 03:15:37 PM
I just got a new TP-link modem router and now I can't see or connect to my DNS 323, I can't even access the admin interface.

Wondering what settings I might have to change? Anyone else using a TP-Link modem router?

Thanks

Were you using the DNS server in the original router? If so, does the new one use the same IP range? Did you reboot the DNS323 to assign a new IP? Is your computer using a static IP or DHCP? If static, is it in the same subnet as the DNS323?

Worst case scenario -> reset the DNS323 to defaults using the reset button after properly setting up your DNS server.

If your TP-link is like the one a friend has its IP will be in the range of 192.168.1.x and your DNS-323 IP is in the range 192.168.0.x therefore they will not talk to each other.

You will need to either change the TP-link LAN settings to the 192.168.0.x range - including the DHCP starting address OR change the LAN settings of the DNS-323 to DHCP client or static IP in the 192.168.1.x range that is out of the DHCP range.

Changing the range of the router did the trick. Thanks!
