Title: Wifi Adapter - Down speed fast Up speed really slow (200KB/s in LAN)
Post by: rmindel on June 07, 2012, 04:20:36 AM
Hey,

I have a DLink wifi adapter for my pc and i noticed one annoying thing -
When downloading i get my max speed (~1.2MB/s) but when i try transferring things from my pc, i get a max of 200KB/s (transferring from one pc to another on my network, so it's not related to my internet plan)
Is it possible my wifi adapter is restricting my transfer rate to 200KB/s because it cannot transfer faster?
because this limitation is causing me Buffering when my streamer is trying to get the files and is not getting them fast enough.

Thanks
Roy

What model is this adapter?

What make and model host router do you have?

What wireless modes are you using? Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel.
