Title: DIR-600 AP problem
Post by: shonextr on June 07, 2012, 02:11:00 PM
Few days ago I have bought this device and I already have a problem with it. It works excellent like a router, but when I want it to work like an AP problem starts.
After setting  up to work like AP i can't access to device. Last information I see about it is:

DEVICE MODE
The device is changing to AP mode.
The device will dynamically get an IP address from DHCP server.
Please check the DHCP server for the IP address of the device.
Or use UPnP tools to discover the device.
Waiting time : 70

After time is up, I can't access a device. Connection manager reports: UNIDENTIFIED NETWORK, no network and internet connection.

I'm using WIN7 and the version of the DIR-600 is: H/W Ver.:B5    F/W Ver.: 2.10

THANKS    8)

Is this AP mode feature and option on the 600 router?
Most DIR series routers do not support any AP Mode officially.
You can Turn a router into an AP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=40856.0) using this <link.

Thank you for quick answer.
Yes, it is an option. I'm trying to set AP for my HP 4530s. I need DIR-600 to connect to internet trough wifi router that I already own, i just need to extend my notebook signal.

Then I would use the linked process I mentioned. Should work well for you. You'll just have to have a wire running from the host router to the 600.
