Title: Unstable 300mbps wireless with intel centrino 1030 N notebook card.

hi, i have searched online to see how to fix this problem. i didn't find any solutions. the problem is that it always stays around 121-150mbps and sometimes 270mbps(beside router). here is my wireless settings on my router

802.11n channel width:auto
802.11n mode:Enabled
Ad-hoc channel:11
Fat channel intolerant:Disabled
Roaming aggressiveness   :Medium
Throughput enhancement:Disabled
Transmit power:Highest
Wireless mode:802.11a/b/g

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. AES has the best performance.
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out.

the hardware ver is :a4
fireware:1.35NA
i am in canada

i tried single n and n+g mode and it is still the same.
20mhz will make it 65mbps
i use wpa2 personal+AES
i tried a manual channel and it is still the same.
i know there is lots of wifi routers around me since i live in a condo and i see lots of networks when i scan.

Are the drivers for the notebooks wireless adapter up to date?
Can you set a band width of 40Mhz on the 655?
Can you connect at 300Mbs if you temporarily turn off security?
Will any other device connect to the 655 at 300Mbs?
Will the notebook connect at 300Mbs on any other WiFi router supporting 300Mbs?

Having other Wifi routers and APs near by could also be effecting connection, specially in a condo or apt complex setting. The good neighbor policy put into routers comes in to play. Any chance this notebook can do 5Ghz WiFi? Try a 5Ghz Wifi router or AP?

the drivers are up to date.
i tried setting the band to 40mhz and it is still the same.
it will be more unstable if i turn off the security
this is my only 300mbps device so i dont know if other devices will work.
the notebook will connect to 300mbps with another router but it is still unstable like with the 655

my network card does not support dual band.

If the notebook is not stable on other routers then it's possible the WiFi card in the notebook is the problem. I would try a USB or LAN WiFi adapter or upgrade the internal WiFi adapter to something different or get a replacement WiFi adapter for the notebook.

i have just upgraded this card. the intel 1030 is the new one. my old one is a 150mbps one.

I would try a WiFi USB adapter, like a DWA-160 or one of there models that supports 300Mb Wifi connections. I have 2 of the 160s and they work well. If the USB adapter exhibits the same thing then I would presume there is a problem with the 655 router settings, configuration or HW itself.
