Title: DSL-2740B Accessible over internet even though it's disabled
Post by: Xaethon on June 17, 2012, 02:01:37 AM
The router itself is being broadcasted over the internet for remote management, so anyone with my IP could log into the router. Even though I don't have it enabled it, it's still being accessible over the internet. I've changed the password from the default "admin" to a more secure one (numbers/letters). However it's still irritating in the potential security risk I'm feeling.

In the UK, using the router DSL-2740B on firmware revision EU_2.95.

Thanks.

Even doing a factory reset of the modem?

I recommend contacting your local DLink support office and get help on this problem.

Yes, even when doing a factory reset (which I've done many times).

I tried to send an esupport message but it kept failing when typing in the model. I think the only other option is to call them, which I'll have to see about tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply though!
