Title: How do you assign an Static IP on this router?

Ok so I have a couple devices connected to it, but there's a trick with Android phones that users report better battery life assigning an Static IP to the phone, not dhcp or reservation. However I can't figure it out in this router as when I revoked the current address it wouldn't let me add a new one, and when I went to add one at .202 to be outside of dhcp range it doesn't let you and says to enter a number within the range, .100-.199

Static IPs are set on the device itself NOT on the router.  If you use DHCP Reservation settings on the router, its like giving the device a static IP as it will be the same everytime.

Realized I misworded that after lol. meant I'm assigning a static ip on my phone, i.e. 192.168.1.220 but the router still shows the regular address 192.168.1.193. Apparently other guys are saying they had to put the address out of the range of dhcp (100-199 in my case) as even dhcp reservations showed no difference in battery life as there's a glitch sometimes in Android where wifi can cause extra drain, but if assigned a static ip it fixes t.

You can set the static IP address on the device if your using an address out of the pool range on the router, so you want .220, just set it up on the device. You can also set up a reserved IP address on the router which is also recommended, however that would need to be with in the pool range, .100-.199. Once you have either method set up, make sure the old IP address that the router has been giving the device is revoked first, then restart the device and router and you'll be good to go.

I must be doing something wrong or missing something. But when I restarted the router this time on the new static ip, the phone is connected and checked and phone said ip is 192.168.1.210 which I used.

However it doesn't reflect anything or show up at all on the actual router, like the device isn't there (I revoked the .194 ip), yet the phone is connected?

Your changes too effect when you restarted the router. Should work well now for you.

The router won't show you device information for the phone because the phone isn't getting any info from the router.  It MAY show up on the admin page that shows wireless connections .
