Title: DIR-615 - Website filter not working
Post by: wlbrown on April 04, 2009, 07:05:04 PM
I have a brand new DIR-615 (H/W ver C1, F/W ver 3.01).  When I create a Access Control that turns on a Webfilter it disallows all Internet traffic to the PC connecting wirelessly.

Settings in Access Control are:
- Schedule is set to all day, every day.
- Method: Block Some Access
- Webfilter box checked
- Have tried with Web Access Logging both Enabled and Disabled
- In Webfilter settings I have facebook.com

This is incredibly disappointing because I bought through CompUSA who is now telling me there is no return for this item.

I've been on with Customer Support two days ago and they could not figure it out.  They transfered me to "Second Level Technician" who put me on hold and then hung up on me.  This has happened twice.

If I don't get this resolved, I'm going to log on to every website I can and give the most negative review possible.

Help...

Having the same issues. I have even returned the router for the same model to resolve this and other intermittent connectivity issues. Still having issues with the new router.  >:(

If you resolve this, I would appreciate you letting me know what the resolution is.

Thanks.

You should uncheck the webfilter option which restricts you to 40 approved sites only.

you should not need to uncheck the webfilter option because you can set the webfilter to allow OR deny the 40 listed sites. In which case you will either have 40 approved sites or 40 disapproved sites. At the end of the day the webfilter is not working for disapproved sites.
