Title: Can't delete file, owned by user 'nobody'
Post by: mpowell24 on June 28, 2012, 07:13:59 AM
A few nights ago I saved a copy of windows 7 to my NAS as I am getting a Macbook Air and wont have a CD Drive to do the install.  Well I have changed my mind on that and decided to delete the folder.  But I can't!  It says that I do not have permission to do so.  I have tried from my Mac and my work laptop (Windows 7).  Windows gave me a little more info in stating that 'NAS\nobody' owns it.  Well I have tried changing the permissions from windows and nothing will stick.  It always falls back to the original settings.

This is 2.5Gb and I want it gone! Any idea's?? I have very limited unix experience....

Use Web File Server in NAS webUI to delete or use rm command if you have FFP installed.
