I have a DIR -625 which i just updated the firmware to the 3.08. Since upgrading the firmware the signal is spotty. I have 1 Mac desktop connected via cat5 and it drops the internet. The only way to reconnect is to reboot the Mac. I have a wireless laptop that does not lose connection. I have reset the router to the factory settings and no change. It was working just fine before the upgrade to the firmware.
please provide me with some suggestions.
thanks

You are not able to connect to the wired connection but able to connect wireless connection.
Try to change the Lane cable.
If you need to reboot the MAC to reconnect then try to reinstall the LAN card drivers.
Try to connect laptop with wired connection to the router and verify the same.
If you are not facing the same issue with the laptop wired connection that means there is no issue related to the router.

I am able to connect wired and wireless but the wired drops. My voip phone is also connected to the router and drops, cuts out , can't hear. I also have my xbox connected and geta " connection interruptions" all the time during the game. everything worked fine before i upgraded the firmware.
I will try connecting the laptop to the router as well.

If its just about wired connection, then try to reconfigure the router.
Or you can downgrade to the previous firmware and verify the same.

so it is ok to downgrade the firmware?
Anything special i need to do?
-
You can check the same with previous firmware.
Not a problem if you downgrade the firmware.
Its just to isolate the issue.

it's pretty sad but i downgraded to 3.01 firmware and the problem seems to be fixed. Only time will tell but it usually drops several times by now.
oh well.

Alls well .
the suggestion of going back to the first firmware was the answer for us.
