It took me two days, but I managed to set up all three modes of the Dir 505 when using a Windows 7 PC.
Router Mode. (Corded-Mode) Just plug an ethernet cord into the Dir 505.
HotSpot Mode (No Cords) see my other post
Repeater Mode (No Cords) see my other post
I still can not access the USB storage device using the ShareStore App. Will keep trying and will update this post if/when I figure it out. ---
Will someone please post a good/working link to download SharePort for Windows 7.

You might want to add links to your other posts. ;)

I was able to get SharePort to work, though the advertised capability of uploading files from an iOS device is not there. From a PC (Win7) it all worked. I have not tested the DLNA client yet.

Can you tell me how you were able to get this thing to work?
This is the 2nd one of these I am trying. the first one I spent 2 hours with dlink support and they determined it to be faulty and replaced it with the one I have now.
I have tried configuring it in all three mode and each time I complete the instructions , for any of the modes, the device after saving acts as if I just took it out of the box.
Each time it says it will require more information after reboot and takes me back to the wireless config screen same as the 1st DIR 505 did.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and my router is the Dlink DIR-645 Whole Home Router 1000. I have tried configuring it with the default firmware and both the 1.02 and the 1.03 upgrades

Interesting. All three modes work for me, though I do not have a D-Link router. It would be useful for you to try it on a different router, perhaps at a friend's house or a Starbucks, etc.

Tried it on a friends router tonight, She has a Linksys and still could not configure it in any mode. Guess i will be calling Dlink support back in the morning
