My backup drive (Volume_2) takes up quite a bit more space than my "main" drive and I would like to reformat it so that the backup will be a closer approximation of the "main" drive (Volume_1). Obviously I do not use any Raid functionality. I realize I'm taking a small risk during this window (when I'm reformatting and backing it up again) if the Volume_1 was to have problems, but I am willing to take that risk. Here is my question: it is not clear to me from the documentation how the Hard Drive Configuration wizard works. Will it give me the option to format one or the other or both drives? Furthermore, I am pretty sure the right side drive is Volume_1 but the documentation doesn't seem to address that either and the wizard identifies the drives as "left" or "right" but not whether it is "Volume_1" or "Volume_2". I really don't want to format both drives and would definitely prefer to format only my backup drive. Can someone confirm that the default Volume_2 is the drive identified as the "left" drive in the wizard?

I wanted to reformat the volume 2 to have a fresh backup (I don't use raid). Of course, instead of reformatting the backup drive, I can easily erase the directories off of root and accomplish essentially the same thing. Sorry for the stupid question although I did learn how to reformat the drive from your response. I am surprised one can't reformat the volume 2 through software alone. By the way, my unit has been reliable and has worked well but I do think the documentation leaves a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for this forum.
