D-Link SharePort enabled Product Model: DIR655 (purchased in 2008)
D-Link Product FW Version: 1.21, 2008/10/09
Operating System being used (Windows XP?, Vista?, Win 7 32 or 64 bit, Mac OS 10.5 or 10.6, etc) including any Service Packs or 32/64 bit information: Windows 7 64bits
SharePort Version: version 3.0.0 R1 (SXUPTP Driver : 3.3.8.0)
USB Product (Printer, Disk Drive, or other device) Model and Driver Version:
Seagate external harddrive 600GB
Describe the issue: despite getting dir655 4 years ago, i only started to use shareport 2 weeks ago. i installed sharesport 1.0 into 2 computers (let's call them A and B) and both can see and use the seagate harddrive. now that i upgraded B to shareport 3.0 (i deleted shareport 1.0 first) and B canNOT use the harddrive. when i bring up shareport utility in B i see message : No device servers were found on the network. make sure our device servers are set properly. A continue to be able to see and use the harddrive. B is still connected to the internet thru the dir 655
solution : does shareport 3.0 not compatible with dir 655 firmware v.1.2? if i were to upgrade firmwre, what do i have to watch out for? (i have not done it before)
many thanks
sam

Can you try SP v4 from the DIR-835 site and test?
It's possible v3 and v4 are not compatible.
We presume the drive is formatted clean with NTFS formatting?
I have a Rev B 655 and v4 works with it. Not sure about Rev A routers.
There is v1.35NA FW available. I think if you upgrade you can't go back to v1.21.
Let us know how it goes.
