Title: Always disconnecting
Post by: percival21 on April 10, 2009, 08:31:52 AM
Hi -

This may already be an old issue, but I am having problems with my DNS-321. I can connect it to my network and computers easily enough, but after a few days it becomes a disconnected from the network and I must then restore the unit and start all over again.

I have it hooked up to an Apple Time 500 GB Time Capsule (which I use for my router) as I have mainly Macs in the house and only 1 PC (my computer). What am I doing wrong?

Please help.

Mike

Are you able to just power down the unit then reboot it or restart it from the UI to regain access to the unit? And do you have another PC on the network? Does this other PC loose access to the DNS-321 as well at the same time?

i have singular problem, when I have a power outage, my address will change for my DN321, it has gone from 192 to 198 in less then 3 days. Is there anyway to keep the same address, if power is lost, or not. I have 2 laptops and 2 desktop computer and I have to remap them anytime of a lost of power. I've also have had trouble connecting back., I usually have to disconnect my "KasperSky Internet Security" for a moment and then reconnect it back after connection to my computers is complete. But the change address really bugs me, I would like to put a stop to it, how can this happen? I don't have to redo my computer from scratch, but I have had to do it ONCE, but most of the time I have to do the Easy D, and for the most part it works good. Oh yes, I know now to remove drives in my DN321, when upgrading firmware, learned this the hard way.

Thanks,

Do you have a static IP address set to the unit?
