Title: Help Wireless Settings
Post by: sortax on July 17, 2012, 08:57:51 PM
Hello, I have a DIR-655. I use the wireless connection for my 2 laptops 1 desktop and some cellphones.

My desktop computer is far away from the router and the signal is very poor since its behind some concrete walls and it keep disconnecting. I do not want to use an ethernet cable since it will take me about a 200 feet cable to be able to reach the comp.

I still have my old router WBR-2310 wich I already used as an access-point by connecting a cable from the DIR-655 port1 to the WBR-2310 wan port.

I want to know:

If I use my WBR-2310 to expand my wireless zone by putting it in the middle of the house,
How can I connect the WBR-2310 to the DIR-655 without using any cables?!? Is it even possible?

Thanks in advance.

Thats not possible, if your turning a router into an AP, it needs to be wired to the host router.

You might check out DLink DAP model APs which are designed to either bridge, relay or work as APs from a wireless stand point with out having to be connected with a wire. I think the DAP-1522, 1360 and 1533 can relay with out a wire.
