Hi,
We bought a D-Link DNS-320 a few days ago for our small company. Its sole purpose is to back up files from the server. Once it's been configured, I set up an account and a network share, then I went to local back up and set up a daily LAN incremental backup. Everything worked fine. Only after a couple of days I went back to consult the status of the backup -- there is 600 GiB on the server so it takes a bit of time -- to discover that the backup command I set up simply vanished in thin air. Then troubles began. I tried to recreate the schedule, set up everything then click 'save settings' then... nothing. Nothing at all appears in the list! I rebooted, still nothing. Factory reset: no cigar. The firmware was 2.0, so I updated to 2.02, then I even tried 2.02b and 2.03b, to no avail. I even reformatted the disk, for nothing. After the first factory reset (I made many), I noticed that I couldn't set up a share anymore either. Since the interface probably uses some Java for its interaction, I tried with different browsers from different machines (and virtualized OS, IE, Firefox and Opera on XP SP3 and Win 7), but the problem remains, so the browser issue is ruled out. I rummaged this section of the forum in the hope that someone had had the same issue in the past, but found nothing. I'm at a lost now. Any idea?

In the DNS-320 web interface, did you try to save the settings here: Applications > Local Backups? When you created the new backup event, did the event appear on the pane on the bottom of the screen (below the Modify and Delete buttons)? Did you set a recurring schedule for the backup event?

That's exactly the issue: it doesn't save to the pane. And yes, I tried many flavours, recurring, one instance, daily, weekly, incremental or not, etc. Nothing is ever saved to the pane anymore. The same goes to share folders, nothing is saved to the pane.

I have the exact same issue.
Has this been resolved? Is it going to be if not?
If I cannot get this to work does anyone have any suggestions how to schedule a backup?
