Title: what's the different between hardware version A1 and A2.
Post by: heartready on April 12, 2009, 06:48:24 AM
I just wondering if a fireware for the router HW version A2 can be flashed on the router of HW version A1.
I found a firmware 1.12b03 on dlinktw.com.tw, the date is 2008/11/20, which is eariler than the firmware 1.12 on the US support site(the date is 2008/10).  what's the different between them? is 1.12b03 a beta firmware? can it be flashed on HW version A1 router?
thanks,

normally you want the firmware to match the hardware.  between hardware revisions they can make vast changes to the underlying hardware, ie change chipset from one vendor to another, these can make firmwares incompatible.
