Hi all

I'm trying to open the RTSP url for my DCS-5222L in VLC but everything i'm trying, doesn't seem to work.

I keep getting the error "VLC is unable to open the MRL 'rtsp://10.1.1.10:8888/play2.sdp'. Check the log for details."

Using that IP obviously within the LAN and my public IP when i'm outside - neither works...

Any suggestions on how to get it streaming to VLC?

Further to this - when using "http://" instead, it asks for a user/pass but neither of the two accounts allow viewing - comes up with the above error still????

For RTSP try port 554 (it's configured in Setup/Network)

rtsp://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:554/play1.sdp

Hi,

I have the same problem. RTSP worked once but after a vamera reset it doesn't work anymore
when trying to access a stream via VLC:

URL should be correct: rtsp://192.168.1.23/play1.sdp

But it doesn't work anymore.
What can I do?

Port is also 554.
Do I have to configure something in the admin console?
RTSP auth is disabled.

A little late to the party, but did you try adding the login username/password to the url for the camera?

ie:

rtsp://admin:password@192.168.1.23:554/play1.sdp
