Title: USB Printing from a Mac - Mountain Lion
Post by: gary_pgh on August 12, 2012, 10:40:28 AM
How do I connect to a USB printer from a Mac? I am on OSX 10.8 with the correct printer drivers installed.

The options I have to add an IP printer are the following:
Address
Protocol: (IPP, LDP, HP Jetdirect socket)

I've tried the ip address of my DNS-325 and that didn't work.
I've tried the AFP directory, that didn't work either.

I'm avoiding using the SMB connection because file transfer is slow and buggy at best.

Any thoughts?

I've found this, which is not esp encouraging for non-techies:

Wow, that's a lot of work just to get a printer working. Thanks for the link! It might be easier to upgrade to a new wireless printer at this point.
