Title: Is there ANY software less user friendly than DCS?
Post by: Tep on August 15, 2012, 11:26:46 AM
Pretty much every question on this board reflects the unfriendliness of D View Cam.  It's 2012.  C'mon.  Anybody know of any other consumer software that is even MORE of a pita?

"DCS" refers to the D-Link camera series and is hardware, not consumer software. What software applications are you referring to?

Write in haste, edit in leisure....meant d view cam....nearly every post on this topic relates to technical matters that consumers should rarely have to get in to....had I known of the difficulties of setting up and maintaining a recording regime with this software, I would not have  have purchased the camera.  It is incredibly frustrating.

Having said that, I note that your personal efforts at helping people overcome these difficulties are substantial, but still, this software seems very unfriendly....just read thought the topic list.

But the post is probably not helpful to anyone, so I will remove it.

Thanks for the clarification. There's no need to remove the post, as every software product has it's own unique challenges to overcome. The newer DCS models incrementally improved firmware, and new mydlink/cloud services are improving the end user experience in many positive ways.  ;)
