Title: Can't get the Dir 505 to work in any of the modes

This is the 2nd one of these I am trying. the first one I spent 2 hours with dlink support and they determined it to be faulty and replaced it with the one I have now.
I have tried configuring it in all three mode and each time I complete the instructions , for any of the modes, the device after saving acts as if I just took it out of the box.
Each time it says it will require more information after reboot and takes me back to the wireless config screen same as the 1st DIR 505 did.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and my router is the Dlink DIR-645 Whole Home Router 1000. I have tried configuring it with the default firmware and both the 1.02 and the 1.03 upgrades

Are you using the web admin interface to do the configuration or the Quick Router Setup app?  With Router/AP mode, it would require an Ethernet connection.  Can you run the wireless setup wizard (under Setup > Wireless) to change the 505's WiFi configuration?

You can try the 1.04 firmware - be sure to reset to factory after doing so.
