Title: Sending mail after detected motion
Post by: poti on August 19, 2012, 02:03:17 AM
Hi,

I can't figure out how it is intended to be used.

When activating the option to send mail when motion is detected I am receiving mails permanently while I am at home and walking through the zone observed by the camera.

It sounds complicated to me to login to admin pages enabling the option when leaving home and deactivating it again when returning.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Dirk

You'll want to select the "only during" check box and set specific time for monitoring.
Otherwise, yes... any movement send an email.

OK, then I think I'll prefer writing a little script myself with web interface enabling me to send recorded pictures/videos only if I want them. Time schedule is not feasible because I could stay at home some day and therefore interfering with alarm settings automatically.

Thanks anyway!

At least you are getting emails.

Can you share which email system you are using (Gmail, hotmail,..) and your settings (generic)?

I am trying to get email notification on hotmail without suces!

Note I am no IT expert and cannot write any type of software....
