Title: Max capacity
Post by: WinDrop on September 07, 2012, 12:14:41 PM
Hi All,

What is the maximum capacity for DNS-320?
Somewhere it says that it's 4TB, elsewhere that It's 6TB...

What's going to happen if i will plug in 2x4TB HDDs as RAID1? Will i have 1x4TB HDD available?
And what is going to happen if i will connect 2x4TB as RAID0? Will i have 8TB of space?

Thanks.

With older firmware: 4TB
With newer firmware: 6TB (I think from 2.01 forwards?)

2x4TB in RAID1 = 4TB usable space (mirrored)
2x4TB in RAID0 = 8TB usable space (if either disk goes bad, you're pretty much screwed)
