Why does my adapter say my signal strength is always 100% well when I am in the router it is more like 70-80 is it just a software flaw? Even if I only have 3 green bars if I refresh the list it still says it is 100%
any ideas? would be nice if it matched so i didn't have to log into my router to see my signal strength

Talk to Microsoft about it, im sure they will solve the issue in lets say ...20 years.

Signal strength or any network speed etc. displays on your machine is just only a mere assumption. it doesn't tell the actual speed of the connection that you have. If yuo want to further analyze the actual speed between your machine, you can use NetMeter, it's a free tool that you can use to check the actual downstream and upstream of your PC.
If you are technicaly enough, you can also use tools such as NetStumbler as well :)
Try to understand what is on the box of the devices: "...it can reach UP TO..." doesn't mean you can utilize the whole 100MBps when you establish a connection. :)
