Hi,
I am running my DNS-320 on firmware version 2.02. When I am testing an URL configuring a new local LAN backup, I get the following error message for the URL ftp://192.168.0.28/Test:
"dns-320 the url format ist not correct. please try again". The URL is however reachable in a web browser in my LAN.
What could be the reason for my problem??
Thank you for every helpful advise!

Is the "Type" setting correct? (i.e. File vs. Folder)
-
Yes, the "Type" is correct: "Folder" for ftp://192.168.0.28/Test. "Test" is a folder.

Might be worth a go - have you tried adding a trailing slash after the folder name in the URL, so ftp://192.168.0.28/test/ ?
Regards,
Richard

Hi,
The good syntax is on UNC form of URL because of windows network.
So try :
\\ServerName\ShareName\Directory\FileName
FileName is optionnal.
Bye

@vulpesiratus, Were you able to resolve your issue? If so, what was the fix?
-
hello, i have the same problem.
URL not valid when configuring a LAN Backup
I use mac osx mavericks, what is the correct syntax?
-
I'm also having this problem. I have \\Jdryan-pc\e as my folder name, it's coming up invalid.
-
Hi, did anyone manage to fix this?

Lordradish,
You might try using the ip address for your pc, i.e., "\\192.xxx.x.xxx\e" and see if that works. Sorry mnlt2000, I have no clue about Mac's. If all else fails, the moderator, Javalawyer, turned me on to a Windows software, "SyncBack", which is free. It runs on your Windows machine and can do strait backups and sycronization automatically or manually. With multiple entries, you can set it to do backups multiple times a day. It's not too hard to figure out either. Anyway, good luck.
