I recently updated my firmware to 1.23 and have been having troubles ever since (but it was far from perfect before I upgraded from 1.21).
I obviously have a DGL-4500 router, and my wireless adapter tp link WN722n. I have Time Warner.
Is there a problem between my router and adapter? That is my conclusion after my last week of trying to figure what was wrong.
Let me know what all you need besides this and I can get that information for you.
Really need help!
The games I play are Heroes of Newerth, Torchlight 2, DOTA 2 and Guild Wars 2 if that is necessary.
Thanks for the help!

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.

What wireless modes are you using? Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. How many?
Turn off WISH, and WPS under Advanced.
Try turning off Short GI, WLAN Partition, and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
Enable WMM Enable (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50738.0) Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Thank you for the quick response.
I changed it to mixed G and N.
Changed to WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES.
It was already set to 20/40Mhz
No cordless phones (just 3 cell phones).
WISH is off.
I did not enable WMM though. Should I do that for sure. My speed has gone up to 3.34 Mbps, up from 0.84

also mt phone is at 6.8 Mbps, so I am assuming something is wrong.

I changed to G only and enabled WMM and it is up to 5.88. But I know it should still be higher than that..

One more thing, here is my wireless statistics.
Wireless Statistics
Sent :12888
TX Packets Dropped :126
Received :4969
RX Packets Dropped :43
Errors :17701
NO CLUE WHY THERE ARE SO MANY ERRORS

Has a factory reset been performed?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. How many?
I might try a different WiFi card in your PC. I would also connect a wired LAN cable to the PC and make sure the speeds are good there. Any other WiFi Laptops around to verify speeds?
Seems like your speeds have improved.
BTW, this router does report wireless errors, just the way it's done for this router.
