Title: mydlink Cloud Newbee - setup says "Failed to Create ID"
Post by: goosehead on October 13, 2012, 04:11:32 AM
I'm obviously doing somehing wrong  (I Hope)

 DNS 345 version 1.01 ( I updated firmware from 1.00 )

- downloaded and installed MyCloud Application
- started it up got "New mydlink Cloud Account"
- entered desired account name "Goosehead" and filled in other info
- clicked "check if account name is available"
- got "not available"
- tried another unique one like "HTYSFATHEVGS"... also  "not available"
-  tried several other odd names...same thing
- then tried "HTYSFATHEVGS" again but completed the remaining info and clicked "create" rather than "Check if.."
- this time I got box at the bottom pop up with "Failed to Create ID. Check if you are connect to the Internet"

this is as far as I got. I am connected to the Internet but I'm but sure how to make sure the NAS is configured correctly  (or my router).

I did try enabling DMZ my router (DIR 875) using my NAS address..but the same thing

help!

You had to purge all your user settings and reconfigure before you were able to successfully create your cloud account?
