Title: Download size limitation ?
Post by: Bulles30 on October 29, 2012, 12:47:14 AM
Hello,

Some of my friends reported to me that it's impossible to download by internet access from my DNS 320 more than 2GB (video single file). And they say that the download stops on an error message from Windows about a time out problem.
It's the same by the DNS webfile internal application either by FTP download.

I can't test it by myself outside of my private network. So, is there a limitation in the size of downloads ? or is the inactivity time set up in the FTP server parameters have an effect on this ?
What can I do ?

Regards.

Which firmware version do you have on the NAS?

Will need to test it out at my end when I manage to get hold of another Internet connection.

One thing is certain, Web File Manager doesn't allow downloading of file with size >2GB whether locally or from remote.

For some reason I'm unable to get FTP Server to work, on the client side I keep getting "cannot get directory listing".

But I did manage to setup P2P (Transmission running on NAS) and able to download a 2.5GB file on my PC running uTorrent client via WAN (aka Internet) using 2 separate broadband connections.
