Title: DNS-320 slow throughput speeds
Post by: andrew0123 on November 06, 2012, 07:05:00 AM
I haven't found an answer yet so I decided to post. I apologize for redundancy because this seems to be a very common issue.

W7
Gb network, motherboard Gb port (and statuses as such in Network and Sharing Center)
Netgear G5605 Gb switch (brand new)
NAS-320 (brand new w/ 2 3TB Seagate Sata3 drives; each drive is set as Standard, firmware 2.03)
CAT6 cabling

copying from the NAS I get throughput of ~10MB/sec
"sometimes" when copying to the NAS I get throughput of 17.5 MB/sec

Everything is Gb on the system.  I do have a dsl modem/router that is attached to the switch that only has 100Mb/sec but the NAS is connected to the switch not the modem/router so I don' think that is the problem.  Thanks in advance

Also when testing with LANSpeedTest on a harddrive connect via sata on the motherboard inside the computer to the I get 5,400 Mbs writes and 791 Mbs reads of a 1000MB file.  When I perform the same test to a drive on the NAS I get 72 Mbs writes (1/75th) and 44 Mbs reads (1/18).
