Title: Problem in Hotspot Mode
Post by: aero_steve on November 08, 2012, 02:33:01 PM
I've been able to get the DIR-505 to work in Router and Repeater mode, but I can't get it to connect to a secure wifi access point in Hotspot mode.  I've gone through the configuration with the wizard and manually and it doesn't seem like it wants to the save or use the preshared key string for the access point I'm trying to connect to.

Any Suggestions?

What current FW version is loaded?
Has it been updated yet?

1.05 first thing I did out of the box was update it before trying to configure it.

Do a reset to factory state by pushing in a paperclip in the hole between the USB and Ethernet ports until the LED flashes red.  I found that after a firmware update this was needed or else it would do exactly what you describe.
